Rediscovering Magic
I left the game of Magic: the Gathering back when I graduated high school (in 1997). After a short, torrid love affair, I decided it was time to cut ties. The game and I were going separate ways. I was headed to college and didn't have the time to devote to playing the game; even casually. I decided to sell my card collection and walk away.
Fast forward 13 years and I'm starting to step back a little from WoW, which is giving me some time to find a "new" hobby to occupy my free time. Just like WoW, it's got a deep metagame that is very attractive to my puzzle loving mind.
Anyway, I picked up some paper cards and started teaching my wife to play. I've also set up an online account for playing when I'm on the road. I'm still getting back on my feet, but I am already seeing glimpses of my strategic MtG mind coming back. Now I just need to slow my play a little and stop making stupid mistakes, then I may actually win a few games.
